AMAN DUO DE BELGIQUE- From Bach to Sevdah

Description

MERSIHA TESKEREDŽIĆ: violin, SARA VUJADINOVIĆ: piano

Next to their successful solo career in classical music, the two musicians MERSIHA TESKEREDŽIĆ on violin (Bosnia and Herzegovina ) and SARA VUJADINOVIĆ on piano (Serbia) created a new contemporary duo named Aman Duo de Belgique.

Aman Duo de Belgique is unique ensemble in the current classical scene, playing both the classical repertoire as well as the experimental Sevdah and ethno style of Bosnia and Serbia. Two individuals who found in themselves the desire, strength and passion to go beyond their known boundaries.

From Bach to Sevdah

With ‘From Bach to Sevdah’ the duo presents fusion on a unique manner of performing that cares about mostly about the expression of feelings. A very close perception of traditional music of Bosnia, Serbia and all Balkan inspired these two musicians to present another, fresher image of traditional music with it’s imaginative lyrics, melodies and arrangements but still faithfully following classical ways of playing. In this form of folk music it’s melodic, poetic and passionate, and there is something in its scales and chords that connects it to the wider tradition of Balkan music.

On the program G. Enescu, Bartok, Mokranjac, Tajcevic and more.
