DescriptionSylvain Boisvert, flutes , Rui Salgado, 7 strings guitar,
Piergiorgio Pirro, piano, Everton Rodrigues, electric bass, Gabriel Salles, pandeiro Created in August 2016, the Clube do Choro de Bruxelas plays the Brazilian instrumental music, the Choro. This music was born in Rio in the 19th century, result of the encounter between the music of European dances (polka, mazurka, quadrille, waltz ...) and African rhythms imported by slaves (lundu, maxixe ...). Still played and studied today in Brazil, and always more developped in other countries, the Choro, as to its origins, is enriched with multiple influences (jazz, other popular music ...). First the musicians Sylvain Boisvert (flutes), Everton Rodrigues (bass), Matteo Carola (cavaquinho and guitar) and Gabriel Salles (pandeiro) met in Rodas de Choro (sort of choros' jams), a lively Brazilian tradition and widely practiced. Besides concerts, with every time new musicians, brasilians and others, invited or new participants of this project, the Clube do Choro is being developed several projects like workshops, rodas, to disseminate and share this beautiful music! https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCaYmgtTmyFrm4Nwp-Fx_Jsw https://www.facebook.com/ClubeDoChoroDeBruxelas/ EventList powered by schlu.net |
