CANCIONES DE MAGIA, AMOR & MUERTE- LUIZ MÁRQUEZ&FRIENDS

Description

Gabriela Arnon- Luiz Márquez- Bruno Deneckere- HT Roberts

It is a project created by Luiz Márquez as a theme of one of the offerings dedicated to the dead. Every year with the artist collective Mezcalvzw they celebrate the day of the dead as is tradition in Mexico, he has done it here in Belgium for a space of 29 years.
This project offers a series of songs referring to the themes mentioned some traditional and mostly original songs composed by different invited singer-songwriters all of them excellent poets.
Luiz is a Mexican composer and multi-instrumentalist with a very intense and proper style. He has been the energy behind many projects, also bringing out several records with compositions of his own.
Like the memory of a loved one that never fades, Dia de Los Muertos also survives. It may change and evolve, but it never vanishes. The Spaniards learned that when they arrived in central Mexico in the 16th century. They viewed the ritual, which was started by the Aztecs some 3,000 years ago, as sacrilegious. But the festival couldn't be quashed.
Mexican culture sings to the magic, the love and the death. These elements are fused intensely.
