Description

ROMANZEN
STRICTO SENSU

HEIDI WAYENBERG, FLUTE
MARILENA SOURI, PIANO

J.S. Bach, C. Reinecke, P.I.Tchaikovsky,
R. Schumann, F.Poulenc

Marilena Souri (Greece) and Heidi Wayenberg (Belgium) crossed their paths in Leuven, both of them being students in Lemmensinstituut (LUCA School of Arts). After playing together in various projects, they experienced the need to strengthen their artistic bond; naturally enough, Duo Stricto Sensu was created. The duo has already performed several times in Belgium and Greece.
In this concert, Stricto Sensu presents two eminent works of the Romantic genre: Carl Reinecke’s Undine sonata and Robert Schumann’s Drei Romanzen op.94. With these constituting the concert’s core, works of Johann Sebastian Bach, Francis Poulenc and Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky frame the musical picture.
