Part of a European tour to promote Luciano’s recent releases with the support of his endorsement, and the music of the French composer Marc Kowalczyk, this performance aims at showcasing the full potential of the instrument and it is informed by Luciano’s research on extended techniques and new music for solo clarinet featuring compositions from Luciano’s latest albums. The heart of the project is made of his “Sequenza” which includes sections of music that is notated and others “composed in real time” where a “sequence” of propositions are to be developed during the piece in a way that the poetic gesture coincides with the reproduction of the composition and yet makes it unique every time it is performed. Luciano tries then in this remarkable journey to embrace all styles of music he loves in an imaginative tour around the world from Western European music to Afro-American or folkloric music of Southern of Italy, from contemporary classical music with chromatic and angular-shaped lines to heartfelt melodies. Along with well known tunes by Gershwin and Villa-Lobos, the programme also features the Belgian Premiere of a piece by Kowalczyk and a piece featuring famous themes by Vivaldi, Mozart, Weber.
