DescriptionTeacher: Mariana Mariñelarena (Ar) on her fourth tour of Europe.

You need JavaScript enabled to view it Program in two parts First part: From 10:30 to 13:30h We will dive into the world of Zamba and Cueca Norteña. Different accompaniment patterns, phrases and repiques specific to each species. Typical accents and phrasing. We will also deal with the rhythms of Chacarera and Bailecito. Patterns, ornaments, phrases and repiques. Stylistic issues of each species. Second part: From 14:30 to 16:30h In this part of the workshop, we will have special guests Manuel Navarro on Guitar and Santiago Alvarez on Chromatic Harmonica in charge of live music. Mariana Mariñelarena info: Argentine percussionist Mariana Mariñelarena has been playing Latin American music for more than 20 years. She is particularly specialized in the traditional folk music of her country.She has established herself as an active artist and an example of the Bombo Legüero in Argentina, contributing to its worldwide dissemination. She performed concerts and led workshops at renowned festivals such as "Tarbes en Tango" (Tarbes, France), "Festival Argentina" (Albi, France), and "Forum der Kulturen" (Stuttgart, Germany) among others, as part of her Europe Tours with the project "Sembrando Legüeros”. She has worked on folklore, tango, Afro-Peruvian, and Latin American music projects, and has been a sessionist on over 30 record productions. She has worked with the musical group “Sin lineas en el Mapa” and amongst most prominent musicians including Sara Mamani, Luz Mata, and Lorena Astudillo. She has also developed a strong interest in accompanying great musicians such as Jaime Torres, Melania Pérez, Lilian Saba, Carmina Cannavino, Lucho Gonzales, and Charo Bogarin. Urraka, Concoló, Trio Argento, Florencia Dávalos' trio, and the Santiago Alvarez group are just a few of the musical ensembles she has incorporated and continues to integrate. She has performed in the most renowned places of the Argentine music scene, such as Teatro Colón, the Kirchner Cultural Center, the Cosquin Festival, and the Rojas Cultural Center, to name just a few. She was also part of the TOQUE 2022 International Percussion Festival, which was held at the Kirchner Cultural Center in Buenos Aires.
