Daniel Schell and Sandip Banerjee have recently released their new opus CD ´Green Birth´ .The compositions use of course many elements of classical Hindustani music, but they are also showing new ways in the dialog between the tiptar and the tabla. Daniel plays the tiptar, or tap-guitar, a new instrument with nice percussive characteristics, which go well along with Sandip´s instrument, the tabla.
For this occasion the duet has invited the marvelous bengali vocalist Sunanda Mukherjee. She has studied many years with the famous teacher Ajoy Chakrabarti, of Kolkatta. Since then she has specialized in the light classical genres such as thumri, dadra and bhajan.
