Description

Reena C. Shrivastava was born in a musical family. She naturally imbibed the art of music as she began sitar at the age of five under the tutelage of her father and Guru Pt. Rabi Chakraborty, himself an eminent sarod player of the Maihar Gharana. She was often seen on stage for competitions or performances and each time she mesmerized her audience.
Her performances earned her rave reviews not only in India but also abroad. Extensive touring has earned her fame and recognition, in India as well as in Europe, U.S.A. and Canada. Reena C. Shrivastava has performed in almost all major festivals in India and abroad. She played in the Bangkok International Festival and at the UK Sitar Festival in 2007.
She will be accompanied by Kousic Sen, an accomplished solo artist and accompanist, who played with many personalities in the field of Indian classical music. For the last twenty years Kousic Sen has been touring worldwide.
Both musicians are touring in Europe from their hometown Kolkata.
