‘Flowers we are, frail flowers’

Kristina Kebet and Georgios Galiatsos met during their solo pianistic studies, studying both in the class of Alan Weiss in Lemmensinstituut. Aside their individual activities, they formed a piano duo in 2015 and since then often join forces to perform two-pianos and four-hands repertoire.
As they are both musicians with highly individual personalities, their collaboration creates an amalgam of stylistically diverse piano playing, showcasing a vast tonal palette. Nevertheless, while they are performing, one cannot individuate one from another; a striking trait of any fine chamber music ensemble.
Their intuitive and imaginative musicianship, as well as their keen attention to the inner details of the work, result into exciting interpretations full of verve and a refined sense of style.
For the intimate venue of Art Base they have chosen a program for four hands which centralizes the infant and portrays all different aspects of childhood; innocence, vitality, fragility, humor, mischief and children’s fantasy.

All of these and more are exalted in a program containing a juvenile sonata by Mozart, Ravel’s fairytale suite Ma mère l'Oye, Poulenc’s adorably naïve sonata, Ligeti’s playful pieces for four hands, extracts from Kurtag’s Jatekok (=Games) and other pieces.
