Marathi Abhanga
The Marathi devotional songs (abhanga) are based on poems of the poet saints of India, including Jnaneshwara, Tukaram, Mirabai, and Chokamela. The subjects include meditation, devotion, nature and anti-casteism. They are based on classical Indian raga and are performed in the traditional style with pakhawaj, tanpura and cymbals.
