CANCELLED IBERO-AMERICAN SOUNDS: JOSUÉ CASTRO, GUITAR & DAVID BAZALDÚA, GUITAR

Description

Ibero-america is a concept that comprises a large amount of cultures where, even as established as they are and sharing one of the most spoken languages in the world, the complexity of their identity is a constant. With the goals of diffusion and bonding neighboring cultures in mind, the guitarists David Bazaldúa and Josue Castro gather Spanish, Argentinian, Costarican, Mexican and Honduran music in their program, where the diversity and at the same time the similarities comprised in this area will be observed and put in
value.
Josué Castro studied classical guitar at the National School of Music in Tegucigalpa, Honduras under
the direction of maestro Javier Reyes, he graduated with Honors in 2007. In 2008 he was accepted at the School of Musical Arts of the University of Costa Rica, he received classes with the prestigious guitarists Ramonet Rodríguez and Jorge Luis Zamora, and he finished his Bachelor in classical guitar with Honors in 2016. He was the winner of the Music Contest "Chamber Music" in 2009 in Costa Rica, winner of the "Música de Cámara" Contest in 2013 in Costa Rica and he received the 3rd place in the National Guitar Competition, San José, Costa Rica in 2013 (advanced level). He is currently studying his masters in music with an emphasis in classical guitar at the KASK CONSERVATORIUM School of Arts, in Gent,
Belgium, under the direction of the prestigious guitarists Yves Storm and Johan Fostier.
David Bazaldúa, obtained his Bachelor’s degree at the Faculty of Music of the UNAM, in Mexico City. In
2015, he won the scholarship given by the Fondation Turquois to study at the Music Academy Rainier III in Monaco-Montecarlo with Luc Vander Borght, where he received a Diploma in Guitar with mention très bien à l'unanimité avec félicitation du jury and the opportunity to play as a soloist with the Orchestre Philarmonique de Monaco-Montecarlo for the Gala Concert of the Academy. In 2018 he was distinguished with the 3 rd prize of the Youth Awards in the ‘Arts’ category in Mexico City.
