Classical Guitar Duo Antigoni Goni- Eleonora Perretta
This program invites the listener on a journey around the world, guided
by twelve strings and using music as a navigational compass. The
excursion will make 55 stopovers across space and time echoing
humanity’s most cherished musical heritage, as evoked in Dušan
Bogdanović’s compositions Drawing inspiration from ancient pieces like
the 2,000-year-old Epitaph of Seikilos, to 15th century Bichois' Song,
to Namibia, Uzbekistan… these works lead on a worldwide and soulful
exploration of our shared cultural identity - connecting places and
generations, transcending age,
origin, and status. The program will also include other works, from the
Argentinian classic popular song Alfonsina y el mar to gems by E. Granados.
ANTIGONI GONI
Universally praised for her "compelling and communicative" artistry,
Antigoni Goni is a celebrated Greek guitarist and scholar of the British
Council, Royal Academy and Juilliard School. Her latest solo album, Hymn
to the Muse, celebrates Greek heritage, and her multimedia project,
Medio Siglo, pays tribute to luthier José Luis Romanillos. Goni is the
founder of the Juilliard Pre- College Guitar Department and currently
serves as a professor and member of the Artistic Committee at the Royal
Conservatory in Brussels, where she also created The Brussels Guitar
Laboratory and directs The Volterra Project in Tuscany.
ELEONORA PERRETTA
Described as a "young guitarist of enormous talent”, Eleonora Perretta
has performed in major concert halls across Europe, including the Vienna
Musikverein, the Tallinn Philharmonic and the Brussels Royal Conservatory.
Upcoming releases include a duo album, Music Gardens of the World, for
Naxos Records, with Antigoni Goni.
