Event
DescriptionLooking at the images of Grażyna Kielińska, the spectator will immediately understand that the author is a smart observer of life and of human nature. She translates a particular emotional state into her painting. With extreme simplicity of form and a very modest range of colour, Kielińska defines man as a helpless figure in a state of transgression, unable to change what is predestined, waiting for things to become clear. Whatever movement is going on, it does not come from him. A wall, a circle, a dotted line, some egg-shaped elements combined with this waiting figure drawn in one line, that’s all Grażyna Kielińska;ska needs to create a universe of longing for social interaction, a world ruled by forces in which man is merely a puppet or a spectator. In this state of immobility, it’s not a surprise to see a Greek pillar taking man’s place. Sometimes a second figure participates in this play, mostly unaware of the others presence. Grażyna Kielińska was born in 1967 in Poznan, Poland. She graduated in The Art Academy of Poznan in 1992. She obtained the scholarship from the Polish Ministry of Culture and Art and the scholarship of "Primus Inter Pares" Foundation. She deals with painting and drawing. Grażyna Kielińska has exhibited all over Poland. Art Base believes it is high time for a wider public to get acquainted with her work. http://gkielinska.pl Exhibition runs from March 2 to March 17.
