Description

The Dutch/Argentinian Trio Tincho was formed in 2004 by bandoneon player Martijn “Tincho” Traas and double bass player Martin Hiensch, two musical friends from Utrecht. They met Ezequiel Menalled, a young and promising guitar player from Buenos Aires, Argentina, who happened to reside in the Netherlands for a study at the Royal Conservatory in The Hague.
Their mutual interests for the instrumental tango, as well as folklore music, such as the chacarera and the zamba, and the intention to perform as much as they could, lead into the formation of this trio. Within a short period of time they put together a repertoire with mainly well known covers of the legendary Troilo/Grela cuarteto. Later, they extended their play list with arrangements of pieces by Osvaldo Pugliese and Astor Piazzolla, Rodolfo Mederos and… their own compositions. After having played mainly in and around the Netherlands, by the end of 2005 they received an invitation to come and perform at the VIII Festival Buenos Aires Tango, in February 2006. They accepted and experienced a very intense week of tango, radio interviews and, as a result, embracement by the people of this city.

Their new CD 'Puente Alsina', is now also available and can be obtained during the concert.
