Jellantsje de Vries, violin and Bobby Mitchell, piano have been focusing
on integrating certain contemporary works for violin and piano into the
repertoire by combining them with some unique gems from the past. The
rarely performed sonata for piano and violin by Ruth Crawford Seeger
pairs well with some recent works of Frederic Rzewski called 'Satires.'
Robert Schumann's diabolic 1st violin sonata brings the performance full
circle.
