Dr. Nabanita Chowdhary, a musician par excellence, is one of the
foremost Hindustani
Classical vocalists in India. She is an adroit artiste possessing an
eternally soulful blend of spiritual melody and divine aesthetics.
Creativity and improvisation are the essences of Nabanita's
performances. Nabanita received initial musical guidance at a very
tender age from her mother. Subsequently she augmented radiance, grace
and lustre to the presentation of her art under the tutelages of
renowned stalwarts like Padma Bhushans Pandits Rajan-Sajan Misra, Padma
Bhushan Vidushi Shobha Gurtu, Pt. Deepak Chatterjee ‘Rasik Rang’ etc.
for the past 44 years. Nabanita secured the First position in Hindustani
Classical music in both B.A. / M.A. courses and holds a PhD in music.
Besides being a resplendent recipient of several awards, titles,
scholarships and accolades of national and international importance,
Nabanita is an “A Grade” artiste of All India Radio and Doordarshan. The
brilliance of Nabanita lies in her own distinctive blend of styles, her
creativity and a magical voice capable of expressing every emotion.
Despite having pure taleem in the
Khayal and Thumri-Dadra genres, Nabanita’s versatility encompasses the
lighter realms of Classical Music too such as Sufi, Ghazal, Kajri,
Chaiti, Jhula, Geet and Bhajans. She has also cut a deep niche for
herself in Rabindra Sangeet (Hindi and Bengali), Nazrul Geeti, folk
music and modern songs. Her phenomenal presentations received rare
reviews in India and abroad.
Technical mastery apart, the quality of Nabanita's voice steals the
hearts of her audiences and reviewers alike. Her Murkis, Gamaks and the
imagination with which she weaves together the clusters of notes hold
her listeners spellbound. Nabanita’s very pleasing yet quiet and
unassuming personality and flawless renditions ooze divinity and lift
the audiences to heights transcending the mundane world. Nabanita has
extensively performed all over India and USA, Australia, Thailand,
Canada, Singapore, Vietnam, Malaysia, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Nepal,
Myanmar, Indonesia etc. in innumerable concerts under the aegis of
numerous musical organizations. When she is not performing, she
generously devotes herself to teaching aspiring and talented disciples
living around the globe.

Debasish Bhattacharjee began tabla lessons with his father at the age of
seven. Born and raised in Serampore near Kolkatta in the Indian state of
West Bengal, he eventually moved to professional music teacher Pandi
Swapan Chowdhury at the age of 12 and learned the tabla style of Lukno
gharana. From 1987, he received lessons from Professor Bablu Biswas.
Until today Debasish Bhattarcharjee has performed in almost all states
of India, also in the USA, Dubai, Russia and in various European
countries such as France, Spain, Belgium, Netherlands, Luxembourg
Sweden, Malta and Switzerland. Since 2008, Debasish Bhattacharjee has
been living in Cologne, Germany and is the managing director and tabl
teacher of Anubhab Academy. Currently, he regularly plays concerts all
over Germany and works on various musical projects in the border area of
Indian and Western music.
